Devotional
As we may not always understand the Lord’s correction; we may not always understand why or when it comes. There are times, for example, when the Lord corrects an attitude that may later cause us problems. There are times He corrects us in preparation for unknown future events. As a loving parent corrects and chastises a child so that the child would be prepared for life, our Heavenly Father does likewise to prepare us for life. Thus, we’re not to, “Despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction.” The more correction and chastisement we receive, the more likely we are to be used for the Kingdom of God. Remember, the Lord corrects and chastises those whom He loves. Learn to grow by and through God’s correction and watch the blessings flow.Daily Reading
