Foolish Perception

Scripture
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
(Proverbs 14:7)
Devotional
Be polite and move on with your life. This ought to be our motto when dealing with the foolishness of the ungodly. A great hindrance of leadership is the time it spends with the foolish. These are the time-thieves of life. Foolishness is not always outwardly visible. Even a foolish man can make a good first impression---of course that is all the good that is within him. Therefore, foolishness must be perceived. Here is how: Does the person ask questions without answers? Is he governed by hypothetical situations? Is he contentious? Are his problems unsolvable? Are his problems always someone else’s fault? When you see these characteristics, be assured you are dealing with a foolish man. It is a matter of perception, not judgment. The perception of foolishness in another is not to exalt ourselves. It is a tool of warning when dealing with life. Go from the presence of a fool with regard to guidance, but draw a fool to repentance.
