Title

Afraid of the Dark?

Scripture
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” even the night shall be light about me;
(Psalm 139:11)
Devotional
When we walk in the light of Christ, no darkness will overcome us. “Light” in scripture represents truth, righteousness, and life. “Darkness” represents deception, sinfulness and death. Because we belong to Christ, darkness has no power over us. There will be times that we will perceive that we are being overcome by it, but with Christ there will be no fear of the darkness. When dark days come, and they will come, the light of the gospel of Christ will keep you and deliver you. When deception, sin and even death darkens your day, truth, righteousness and life will shine about you. No matter how dark the night, Christ shines more brightly than any blackness. No matter how fearful the shadows, Christ Jesus will outshine the darkest of fears. Therefore, we need never fear the darkness, physically or spiritually, because we are children of the light not of the darkness.
