The Scriptures Unlock The Scriptures

Scripture
You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.
(Psalm 22:3)
Devotional
There are scriptures that unlock the mysteries of God's Word; our text is one of them. It first of all answers the question of the cross, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"[1] When Christ took your and my sins upon Himself as the Son of God and the Son of Man, the Father in Hs holy throne had to turn His back on His Son and stand silent. And for the first time in all of eternity, fellowship between the Father and the Son was broken. This was done because of and for you and me. The second key that this verse unlocks is the purpose and power of praise: God inhabits the praises of His people. Praise and worship is the key to blessing God and reaching God. Psalm 100:4 instructs, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise."[2] Praise is the gateway to prayer. Jesus taught that the first thing we are to say when we pray is, "Father in heaven, Hallowed (praised) be Your name."[3]
