Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.(Proverbs 10:14)
Devotional
Our greatest strength can and usually is our greatest weakness. The wise will know that, especially when it comes to knowledge. The apostle Paul instructs, "We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up."[25] The more we know the more we will defend what we know. This often leads to a narrow biased mind. The very things we know can keep us from knowing the truth. If, for example, you have a great knowledge of "evolution," You will always hear from that bias. It is the natural thing to do. The key is to always apply the knowledge we have through the filter of godly wisdom. This wisdom is found by the leading of the Holy Spirit of God and by His Word. The mouth of the foolish can be the fruit of a very knowledgeable mind. However, it is a mind stuck in the wisdom of man instead of the wisdom of God. It is a man's view, not necessarily God's. Knowledge attained through wisdom will always have an ear to hear. It will listen without the thought of a retort, but with a mind ready to give an apology.Daily Reading
