Have Salt in Yourself

Scripture
Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.
(Mark 9:50)
Devotional
What does it mean to have salt in yourself? To have salt in yourself is to have a change of attitude. Salt adds flavor. Of all the seasonings, salt has the greatest use and value. It flavors, preserves, complements and cures. Its uses are manifold. People with salt add flavor to life. They have the ability to preserve relationships and cure hopelessness. They speak with excitement and enthusiasm and walk with a purpose. They are simply enjoyable to be around. People with salt are more interested in edifying others than they are in building up themselves. They complement, give hope and add life. They are the spice of life. They always add, never detract. They flavor the mundane, and season the mediocre. Salt is not a rare commodity. It is readily available to all. It is a chosen attitude, an acquired art. Therefore, have salt in yourself, and have peace with one another.
