The Ornament of Grace
Scripture
She (Wisdom) will place on your head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory she will deliver to you.(Proverbs 4:9)
Devotional
Grace is God's unmerited favor that grants the believer the power to be made into the likeness of His Son. When we receive and begin to understand this ornament of grace, wisdom is at hand. It is not an intellectual wisdom or life experience wisdom. It is a crown of glory wisdom given by the grace and mercy of God. It is truly unmerited by our efforts, but by the great merit of God's grace. When we by this grace place our faith in Christ, wisdom has accomplished its best work. This wisdom is what causes God to place on our heads an ornament of grace and a crown of glory. It is this crown that we will ultimately lay at His feet. It is not a crown that we have earned, but a crown of greater value. Its merit is based on the price paid by Christ. You have the wisdom and God has the grace.Daily Reading
