God Is His Children's Defender
Scripture
For their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you.(Proverbs 23:11)
Devotional
You do not mess with God's children. It may appear that the things of this world are having their way over the things of God. They are not. God in His mercy is slow to wrath and quick to forgive. He is patient toward all His creation. Nevertheless, He will not long tolerate those who do His children harm. It is a foolish thing to raise one's hand against God's elect. Let us, as believers likewise be slow to bring an accusation or a judgment against a brother or sister in Christ. When we, without merit, bring a charge against another, God will be his or her defense. He will plead their case against you. And I am sure that He has never lost a case. Romans 8:33 says it this way, "Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies."[1] Let us be understanding and wise when dealing with those who belong to Christ, lest our savior becomes our judge.[1] Romans 8:33
