Scripture
The devising of foolishness is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to men.(Proverbs 24:9)
Devotional
You know them, they find fault, see the problem, have the complaint, but they have no solutions. It is easy for them to devise this foolishness. Anyone can scoff, but it takes wisdom, mercy and grace to correct a fault, solve a problem and mend a complaint. The scoffer says, "everyone is complaining." You will prove his or her scoffing by simply asking, "Who are they?" You will most likely find that the scoffer is the complainer. Be aware that knowledge, education and even a level of wisdom do not prevent the scoffer from devising foolishness. It is an inherent sin nature. Scoffers are insecure people who usually have no idea that they are insecure. They defend hills and mountains that need no defense. They fight and war when peace is the answer. The only thing worse than having to deal with a scoffer is being one. That is why they are an abomination to men.Daily Reading
