The Reality Is, Life Hurts

Scripture
My heart is in turmoil and cannot rest; Days of affliction confront me.
(Job 30:27)
Devotional
Herein is the reality of life that is not answered by religious rhetoric or platitudes. Job experience the unanswerable turmoil and afflictions of life’s reality. The question is, “What do you do with this reality?” What am I to do when life hurts, and I cannot see the hand of God in it? Job answered these questions this way, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him…” When life hurt and there where no answers to why, Job continually held on to his integrity. If we had all the answers to life’s hard times, we would have no need of faith. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Will life often hurt? Yes! Will God remain faithful? Yes! The question we must ask is, Will I remain faithful? I hope, by God’s grace, the answer is, yes!
