How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised correction! I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!(Proverbs 5:12-13)

Many a person has sadly repeated these words when their lives were all but over. These are those who have looked at their lives in retrospect and have realized that because they were unteachable, they failed at their goals, dreams and desires. Therefore let us frequently ask ourselves: Do I hate instruction? Does my heart despise correction? Am I disobedient? If these dwell within me, I am on my way to destruction and inevitable ruin. Let us therefore endeavor to embrace instruction and learn from the mistakes of others instead of having to make them ourselves. Let us be thankful when someone loves us enough to correct us and heed that correction. Above all, let us walk in obedience to the truths of God's Word, even to the point of submitting to the inclinations of godly authority. Listen with an ear leaning toward obedience to those who love you and have your best interest in mind.Daily Reading
