The Foundation of His Rule

The Lord reigns; let the earth rejoice... Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.(Psalm 97:41276)
Devotional
God's righteousness has not, does not and will not waver; nor will His justice ever withdraw from upholding it. When God says, "I am the Lord, I do not change;"[17] you can be assured that His word holds true throughout eternity. The ways and laws of God are not situational as the ways and laws of man are. We vacillate and adjust justice to fit our tolerance of unrighteousness. God does not. The psalmist warned us long ago, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"[18] Yet we time and time again thwart the righteousness of God and as a result fail to uphold His justice. But His righteousness has prevailed through Christ and His justice will be upheld when we stand before His throne. Therefore let us not forget that righteousness and justice are the foundations of His throneDaily Reading
