Title

For This Cause

Scripture
Having done all, to stand. Stand therefore... and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.
(Ephesians 6:13-14&19)
Devotional
Consider the armor of God: The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. It appears that the purpose of this armor is to prepare us for the battle of prayer. The apostle even specifies what the prayer is to be when he says, "And for me." It is hard to read the epistles without seeing God's call for the church to boldly reach the lost for Christ. We are all to do the work of an evangelist, but we are to especially pray for those who are evangelists. What greater need is there on the earth than to reach the lost? Everything else we can and will do better in heaven. Therefore let us fervently pray for the lost and especially for those who win them. If an invitation is given in your church, watch and pray for the lost to respond. Do not hesitate to invite a seeker to the altar that they may hear and know the mystery of the gospel.
