Am I Willing, Ready And Able?

Scripture

Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
(Isaiah 6:8)

Devotional

There have always been only a few mighty men of valor among God’s people. They are so few that they were usually named, men such as: Gideon, Joshua, and Caleb. These men, like Isaiah, were first of all willing. They were willing to do God’s bidding. They were willing to risk it all on God’s promises. Secondly, they were ready. That is, they had prepared themselves for the work of the Lord. They had studied to show themselves approved unto God, workmen who were not ashamed. Finally, they were able. These men of valor were able to do God’s bidding because God had equipped them to do so. What is it that God has made you able to do? Are you willing to do it? Are you ready to go at His command? God is looking for just a few people who, like Isaiah, will say Here am I! Send me.”
