Devotional
When I was growing up, I was the youngest of three brothers. My two big brothers, Joe and Jimmy, were well-known in the community.They both played football and were well-respected. Therefore, I had a confidence about me, nearly verging on arrogance. I knew that if anybody messed with me they would have to deal with my brothers. Well, the arrogance is hopefully gone, but the confidence remains, not because of my brothers Jimmy and Joe, but because of whose I am. I now belong to Jesus. He has called me by my name. I am His. Therefore, He says in the next two verses, “When you pass through the waters I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God…”Daily Reading
