Title

God takes no Pleasure in Sin

Scripture
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with You.
(Psalm 5:4)
Devotional
Rebellion, stubbornness and the like are neither cute nor pleasurable to a holy God. They should likewise be seen the same by His people. We do our children, for example, an injustice when we permit them to rebel against the God-given authority of their parents. Their tantrums, stubbornness and outbursts of anger are never to be seen as acceptable behavior. It is not with God, and it should not be with us. Rebellion must be driven from a child or that child will be a rebel. Likewise, our sins, no matter how innate, are never to be justified, defended nor seen as normal. When we yield to sin we exit the narrow road of righteousness. God will not dwell with that which is unacceptable to Him. We must understand that sin is never humorous nor pleasurable to God, nor is He ever indifferent to it. Never see sin as cute. Never think that it is okay with God. He simply takes no pleasure in it.
