We Need Not Be Afraid

“Do not be afraid Abram, I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”(Genesis 15:1)
Devotional
Because of Calvary we can write our names in place of Abraham’s. I can remember, as a young child, my father was a steeplejack. He would take me to different jobs, place me on his shoulders and climb great heights. With out him, I would have been afraid. Because of my trust in him, I just enjoyed the view. I knew that he would never let me fall. I trusted his strength explicitly. How much more should I then trust my heavenly Father? Surely, He will never allow me to fall. Surely, His strength to keep me is far greater than my dad’s could have ever been. With God as our Father, we need never be afraid. He will always shield us from the fiery darts of the evil one. Furthermore, through all of life’s trials and toils, He is our comfort. Therefore, let the darts come, He is my shield. Let fear knock on my door, I need not be afraid. Let life hold back its prize, He is my exceedingly great reward.Daily Reading
