The Purpose of Health

Scripture
So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
(Matthew 8:15)
Devotional
The purpose of health and well being for the believer is the service of the Lord. Jesus did not heal Peter’s mother-in-law for not. He healed her that she may serve Him, and that He be glorified. We most often pray to be healed for our own well-being, and that after we have exhausted every other remedy. When the aspirin and doctors fail, then we attempt go to the Lord. All we truly need is a touch from the Master’s hand. I do not understand all the ramifications of healing, but I do know that all healing comes from the Lord. Furthermore, I can trust Him no matter what the result of my request. If He heals me, may He be praised. I just want to make sure that my request is to glorify God and that I might serve Him. As in a marriage, I am to serve Him in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, till death we are united.

On January 10th, Richard said:
Some times we forget that our healing is for God's glory not just our healing. If we are healed then we need to let others know that it is from God and give Him all the credit and glory. If we are not healed we need to praise Him because of who He is and what He has done for us. After all, we are His children.
Job 13:15 "Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.
