Scripture
“For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.”
(Acts 17:21:)
Devotional
History seems to be repeating itself again. We, like the Athenians, are a news-addicted society. We have news broadcasting twenty-four hours a day and have information at our fingertips due to the invention of the computer and internet. ?Let us hear and discuss the new, but let us never forget that which God said is going to last forever. We can talk about new philosophies, governments, and religions, but if we neglect the sure and tried foundations we will be a foundationless society. ?As the psalmist said, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The Word of God is that foundation. Therefore, let us discuss the new, but always in light of that which will never change.
