Title

From Tribulation to Hope

Scripture
We also glory in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character hope.
(Romans 5:5-6)
Devotional
Allow me to extrapolate from hope to tribulation. If we call ourselves believers and we are without hope, it is because we are without character. If we are without godly character it is because we are lazy and if we are lazy it is because we have not been honorable in life’s tribulations. Therefore we are to glory in tribulation. Perseverance demonstrates patients and patients is the ability to remain the same. And the ability to remain the same in all situations is true godly character. True godly character is not flippant nor does it vacillate. It is not influenced by mood swings or temper tantrums. Godly character is character under control. It is not affected by outside circumstances. Therefore the next time life’s tribulations appear, and they will appear, to the best of your ability, glory in them. The fruit will be Christ in you the hope of glory.
