Title

The Right to Appeal

Scripture
Queen Esther answered and said, “If I have found favor in your sight…”
(Esther 7:3)
Devotional
Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Gideon, Ruth, Hanna, Nehemiah, Ezra and Esther all appealed with the phrase, “If I have found favor in your sight.” I am sure that it was more than a rhetorical phrase. Esther was staking her life on it. The lesson is simple. If we have endeavored to find favor, our appeals will be readily received. To the best of my knowledge, each time the phrase was used in scripture the appeal was granted. And it was granted because those making the appeal had truly found favor with the one being petitioned. It would be foolish to make an appeal in an unworthy manner. It would not be prudent to ask before you have found favor. It would be prudent to study those who have successfully implored with “If I have found favor in your sight:” The faith of Abraham, the humility of Moses, the righteousness of Joseph, the valor of Gideon, the faithfulness of Ruth and the obedience of Esther.
