Title

Chance or Order

Scripture
Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.
(Job 38:4)
Devotional
Obviously, we were not there during the days of creation. Therefore, we can only know how we got to where we are by extrapolating backwards, forwards or from written accounts. To extrapolate backwards is to assume that all things have remained relevant. To do so forward is to assume that we are starting correctly. The best written account from which we can extrapolate is the Bible. No matter which for of research is chosen, a high degree of faith is required. As the Lord indicated to Job none of us were there. Therefore if we are to wonder how we got to where we are, we will have to choose a paragon. Two of the three make everything temporal, including life. One has eternal consequences. Two element the need for an Architect; one demands a Creator. The evidence is all about us. Let us choose: random chance or divine order? “Tell Me if you have understanding.”
