Devotional
We need each other. We are not designed to walk this journey alone. You and I need to be encouraged and edified. We require differing levels of friendships, from the casual to the sublime. We are to have social acquaintances, folks who we know by association or because of proximity. We, even more so, require intimate friends, those who know us very well. We need people who can sharpen us, make us better, and tell us the truth, even when it hurts. We need people and people need us. We are to have friends and we are to befriend. Jesus had twelve close friends and three intimate friends. He was even called a friend of sinners. In my life, I have several levels of friends. The highest level I call “my board of directors.” These are people who have the highest influence in my life. I am openly accountable to them. We walk in the light together and have fellowship with one another.Daily Reading
