Title

Isaiah 53

Scripture
Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
(Isaiah 53:1)
Devotional
The answer to Isaiah's rhetorical question is obviously himself. There is no doubt that the prophet had received a clear revelation from God with regard to the coming of Messiah. Isaiah chapter 53 is by far the most powerful, clear prophecy of the life and suffering of Christ. It is the Gospel in a single Old Testament chapter. To read these twelve verses of scripture and not see the awesome price paid for the redemption of mankind and the love of God is to deny the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ. The beauty, the clarity, and the power of these few verses are irrefutable. In them we see His presence, His reception, His character and His sufferings. Read them again and again. Let these words speak to your heart and share them with others. If someone asks the reason for the hope that is within you, share Isaiah chapter 53.
