Title

For Whose Glory?

Scripture
They shall neither shave their heads, nor let their hair grow long, but they shall keep their hair well trimmed.
(Ezekiel 44:20)
Devotional
The counsel of the Lord is sure and righteous altogether. Always remember that there is a reason for every order of the Lord. He never gives direction for the sake of direction. Whatever the Lord commands, He commands for our benefit and His glory. Therefore, when the Lord says that we should be modest or well-groomed, it is because He knows the result it produces. God is concerned with the details of life. He cares how we look. He cares how we talk, and He cares how we carry ourselves. He cares about these things because He cares about us. Furthermore, He cares because we represent Him and His kingdom. People who go to the extreme in their looks and mannerisms do so to draw attention to themselves. On the other hand, neatness, cleanliness, and meekness draw attention to the creator, not the creation. Give God the glory.
