Title

Through The Wilderness

Scripture
How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert!
(Psalm 78:40)
Devotional
The sinful nature of man has not changed since the fall of man. Without the redeeming power of Christ, our natural tendency is to provoke and grieve the Creator of the universe. We are not to be surprised when man's inclinations flow toward sin. Righteousness is not the norm of the world, sin is. However, once we have come to the knowledge of the Son of God, our nature and character is to change. We no are no longer subject to our old temperaments; we now have the very nature of Christ. As believers, we have been graced to live a crucified life. We no longer have to sin. We by faith can, "Be renewed in the spirit of [our minds], and... put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."[45] We are not exempt from life's wildernesses, but we can be exempt from provoking and grieving the One who can lead us through the wilderness.
