Title

The Wisdom Of Parents

Scripture
Woe to him who says to his father, “What are you begetting?” or to the woman, “What have you brought forth?”
(Isaiah 45: 10.)
Devotional
The first authorities in our lives are our parents. God has granted them absolute rule. It is the wise child who yields to the authority of a loving parent. A loving parent always has the child’s best interest in mind. Whether it be in education or marriage, the counsel and authority of a father is to be wisely heeded. The direction of a father and the lesson of a mother are to be received with the humblest of attitudes. The child is not to rebuke nor rule over the parent. This would be a perversion of God’s order. Whether four or forty, the wise son or daughter will regard the counsel of the parent. This is a great responsibility of parenting, as well as the obligation of children. Never forsake the guidance of godly parents. Always have an ear to hear what the Spirit may be saying through them, especially with regard to marriage. This is the order and wisdom of God. You would be wise to consider it.
