Title

As Obedient Children

Scripture
Thus says the Lord… “Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father…Jonadab… shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever.”
(Jeremiah 35:18-19)
Devotional
Here we find the strong influence of a loving, godly father. Jonadab’s children would not violate the commandments of their father even in the house of the Lord. They were given wine to drink which their father had forbidden, and they would not drink it. They stood firm and would not transgress the name of their father. They fulfilled the commandment to honor your father and mother. God commended their obedience, and used them as an example of faithfulness to the rest of the nation of Israel. There is power in obedient children. It is for this reason that the scriptures declare, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” And, “Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.” Therefore, as parents we are to be careful with how we direct our children, and as children we are to be heedful of our parents direction.

How ironic that today devotion is about Obedient. Thank you so much for the daily devotions. God speaks to me through your devotions and I so look forward to what God has to say to my heart each day. To be honest... I have been so disobedient to God lately because of my life not working out the way I was hope for.... I wanted to give up on God because I truly believe that the God we served and love has promised us that if we give good gift to our children how much more would God not give us!!! I feel that his word is very contradicting to His promises...I wanna walks away from Him so badly..... or maybe just drive my car off the cliff and never have to deal with any of this ever again!!!!
But our Father is the Father that happens to love me so much and he kept nudging me to Trust in Him and to Love Him..... Yet, I kept on telling Him that I don't know how to do that!!!! and I can't do it any more and I just wanna die and never have to deal with the pain anymore!!! I am so sick and tired of living my life!!!! I hates my life so much!!!!! I hate/love the God that I served!!!!!
