Title

The Price Of Leadership

Scripture
So when Moses heard it, he fell on his face.
(Numbers 16:4)
Devotional
When Moses’ leadership was challenged, he did not respond with anger or vengeance. He responded with the character of a humble man. Moses was the leader of Israel, not by the dictate of the people, but by the ordination of God. There is great danger in raising a hand against God’s elect. Godly leadership does not have to boast of itself. It does not even have to defend itself. If it is of God, then God will magnify it and God will defend it. Moses did not fall on his face before God so that God would protect him. He fell on his face on behalf of the people. He knew that the people were wrong; therefore, he implored God for His mercy. Moses knew that the people were in great danger for resisting God’s appointed leadership. He had no fear for himself. He feared for the people. This is the qualification of greatness in leadership. If God calls you to lead, follow the example of His servant Moses.
