What Makes You Fret?

Scripture
Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
(Psalm 37:1)
Devotional
The newspaper causes me to fret. There have been several occasions where I have personally been involved with differing newsworthy events. Each time I read the article of which I was involved, I wonder if the report is about the same event. Often times, the articles are fabricated to the point of blatant lies. Nevertheless, God says, “Do not fret because of evildoers.” I am sure that there are evildoers in your life that cause you the same tendency to fret as the newspaper causes me. While, God’s Word applies to both of us. Neither of us is exempt. Here is the additional good news, God knows. It really does not matter if the whole world thinks one way as long as God knows the truth. Therefore, we are not to fret when workers of inequity are elected to political office or the ungodly are seen as famous. God will not be mocked. It is foolish for us to be envious, and a waste of time for us to fret. Because God knows, and we win.
