Devotional
If there is a reason for the success of our military, it is their state of readiness. In an instant, our armed forces are able to respond anyplace in the world to defend the freedoms and sovereignty of our nation. Likewise the success of the believer is his or her state of readiness. If we are ready for the return of Christ, we are ready for life. If we are not caught off guard when He returns we will not be caught off guard with whatever life throws our way. If the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds, we will prevail and not be unprepared when Christ comes (See 2 Corinthians 10:3). The question we are to ask ourselves daily is, “Are we ready?” Are my thoughts, attitudes and deeds brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ? Is my home in order? Is my family and are my loved ones ready for Christ’s return? Are we in a state of readiness?Daily Reading
