Title

Leave The Light On

Scripture
Jesus spoke…saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of the world.
(John 8:12)
Devotional
I can remember as a child being afraid of the dark. Inevitably, when I would go to bed the night would release all sorts of haunting creatures. The clothes on the chair in the corner would slowly turn into a hideous monster. The trees outside my window would become beasts and critters of various forms. Fear would well up in my mind and I would at first sheepishly call for my mom and eventually yell for her attention. She would come to my aid asking, “What’s the matter?” I would respond, “Can I have a drink of water?” After I took a small sip of water I would passingly request, “Would you leave the light on?” As an adult, I remained afraid of the darkness of the unknown, until the light of the world illuminated my life. I no longer have to fear the darkness; Christ Jesus has left the light on for me.

I enjoyed this devotional. I am at that same point. Fearful of a lot, honestly think I put too much pressure on myself and then there is a lot of stress for me. I need to trust in god and my faith to see the light, not the darkness and fear.
