Title

There Is No Other Alternative

Scripture
Elijah…said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.”
(1 Kings 18 21)
Devotional
James says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Joshua said it this way, “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Making right choices is hard work. God is not going to hit us on our heads with some spiritual enlightening hammer. He will however show us through His word and by His Spirit what is right. We have to choose between that right and the alternatives the world has to offer. How long will we attempt to straddle the fence of mediocrity? Choose the truth or reject it, but do not toy with it as if there is a better option. How long will can we falter between two opinions?
