Title

Reaping The Spoils Of Life

Scripture
There were four leprous men… and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die?”
(2 Kings 7:3)
Devotional
The city was being besieged and its occupants were dying of starvation. These four lepers that if they were going to die, they were not going to die sitting. In essence they said, “If we are going to die let us die doing something.” It was Emerson who said, “People are always getting ready to live but never living.” These four lepers are a lot like so many of us, we talk much about living but seldom do anything about it. Well, they decided to do something about it. They decided to take a great risk and go to the camp of the enemy. Their reasoning was that if we are going to die anyway why not take a risk and die attempting to live. We are all terminal. The only difference between any of us is when our lives will terminate. Therefore, let us live until we die. Since we are going to die, why not take a risk and attempt to live to the fullest. Let us leave the comfort of the gate and reap the spoils of life.
