There Is Only One High Priest
Scripture
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.(Hebrews 7:25)
Devotional
The Him of whom our text is speaking is Christ Jesus. He is the only high priest worthy to make intercession on behalf of His creation. There is none other. There is no other way. Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life, and no one comes to the Father but by and through Him.[1] I know and understand that in our post Christian pluralistic society that this is not only hard to swallow, but possibly for many insulting. To believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven is to be branded narrow minded and bigoted by the world. The Word of God says that to believe in Christ is to be sound minded and receptive. We have a choice to believe whatever we wish. However we will have to pay the consequences of those beliefs. The wise will have a source for their beliefs. The foolish will just simply believe without any foundation. Jesus Christ gives us no other choice but Himself.[1] 1 John 14:6
