Devotional
You never win by whining and you never whine when winning. All battles are won through strength. Weakness has never won a battle. Meekness has had countless victories, but meekness is not weakness. Meekness is strength under control. I am forever amazed at the number of people who think that they can whine their way to victory. I have counseled countless husbands whose wives were threatening to leave them for one reason or another. Many, if not most of them, attempt to win their wives back by pitifully cowering and blubbering—acting more like a child than a man. “A wise man is strong.” I’m not talking about machismo. I am talking about godly meekness, strength under control. Winning not whining. Standing strong, not cowering like a kicked puppy. Godly strength is not assertive, but firm, quiet and sure. It does not compromise what is right. It always wins over whining.Daily Reading
