Is There No Prophet?

Scripture
Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?”
(2 Kings 3:11)
Devotional
A few people seek godly counsel. Most people seek agreement. Jehoshaphat’s question ought to be the first question when seeking counsel, "Is there no prophet of the Lord here?” The answer to his question is “Yes!” There was and there is and there always will be. A prophet is one who speaks forth the mind of God. He is neither a fortuneteller nor a prognosticator. He is a communicator of God’s Word and will. The wise man or woman will seek out his counsel above all else. He or she will listen with an ear toward obedience
