Title

Have I Fallen?

Scripture
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works…
(Revelation 2:5)
Devotional
Have you ever been closer to the Lord than you are now? Do you find yourself doing things that were once repulsive to you? Are you flirting with sins that you once shunned? If so, then you have fallen. I am not asking if there was a time when you were happier or more pleased with your lifestyle. I am asking if there was a time that you sought Him more fervently, loved Him more dearly or obeyed Him more clearly.  Was there a time that you served Him more than you do today? Was there a time that you were more faithful to His church than you are now? Was there a time that you were more devoted to personal devotions and prayer? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then you have fallen and you need to repent and do the first works. “Remember therefore from where you have fallen.”

Timely message as they all are. I appreciate that this devotion is very straightforward and not fluffy. Not always what we may want to hear, but what we need to hear to stay growth-oriented.
