Title

The Complexity Of Salvation Is Its Simplicity

Scripture
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Joel 2:32)
Devotional
Man in his arrogance and pride will add all kinds of conditions to the saving grace of Christ. He is not willing for the sacrifice of the Father through the giving of His Son to redeem fallen man. The pride of life will demand conformity to the traditions and standards of man. The book of Colossians says it this way, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” When man begins to add a list of acts that must first be accomplished before salvation, be leery. I am not saying that works are evil in themselves. The Bible is clear, “Faith without works is dead.” We are not saved, “By works of righteousness... but according to His mercy He saved us.” It takes faith to call on the name of the Lord. It takes faith to let go and let God.
