Title

Unintentional Sin

Scripture
If anyone…sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord… then he shall bring an offering.
(Leviticus 4:27-28)
Devotional
It is very evident that we can sin without an initial knowledge of our sin. We can and do sin in ignorance. The Lord says that not only individuals, but also the whole congregation, can sin unintentionally, as can leaders. Therefore, God in His graciousness will not allow us to remain in our ignorance. He will send a messenger to expose our sin in order that we can deal with it. It is very possible for an entire church to be unknowingly walking in sin. The best of leaders can unintentionally be wrong. It is for this reason that we must continually be examining ourselves and changing. It is a great sin to willfully remain in our ignorance. Whether an individual, a leader, or the entire church, we must be willing to see the sin in our lives and offer ourselves as a sacrifice on the altar of change.
